KUCHING, May 23: One Covid fatality was reported in Miri as Sarawak recorded 295 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 20.
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, of the total cases reported 288 were under Categories 1 and 2, while seven cases were under Categories 3, 4 and 5.
This brings the cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 306,246.
By district, Kuching remained the top ranked with the most number of new cases at 83, followed by Miri (68), Sibu (48), Bintulu (22), Samarahan (13) and Serian (10).
Other districts which reported new cases were Pusa (6), Limbang (4), Mukah (3), Dalat (3), Beluru (3), Lawas (3), Kanowit (3), Kapit (3), Telang Usan (2), Bau (2), Simunjan (2), Betong (2), Tatau (2), Saratok (2), Asajaya (2), Matu (2), Belaga (2), Kabong (1), Tebedu (1), Song (1) and Lundu (1). — DayakDaily
