Covid-19: Four Sarawak cases among 14 recorded nationwide

KUCHING, June 18: Malaysia recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases including four from Sarawak.

In a Facebook post on its official page today, the Ministry of Health (MoH) revealed that out of the 14 new cases, three cases were imported while 11 cases involved local transmissions.


From the 11 cases, four cases were Malaysians while the rest were foreigners.

MoH highlighted there were four positive cases from Sarawak comprising two cases each involving locals and foreigners respectively.

The balance of the seven local transmission cases were located in Kuala Lumpur with four cases, followed by Selangor (1), Perak (1) and Sabah (1).

With the new confirmed cases, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has risen to 8,529 cases.

The number of active cases in the country is 408 with four cases being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).

The ministry also revealed that there were 127 Covid-19 patients throughout Malaysia who have recovered and discharged from the hospital today.

No Covid-19 fatalities were reported today, and the death toll stays at 121. — DayakDaily
