Police hunting down two Covid-19 positive Indonesian workers

KUCHING, June 18: Police are now on a manhunt for two Covid-19 positive Indonesians who went missing from their living quarters.

Confirming the news, Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said the search began yesterday evening for the duo identified only as Darussalam and Hasanah.

It was understood that the Indonesians went through Covid-19 screening test by Ministry of Health on June 16 as part of the conditions to work at construction sites.

“When the test result came in as positive, MoH personnel returned to the workers living quarters at Petra Jaya yesterday evening, but they could not find the two Indonesians.

“A police report has been lodged by MoH. Police from Kuching and other district from nearby border areas are now actively looking for them,” Aidil said in a statement.—DayakDaily
