KUCHING, April 14: Assistant Minister of Transportation Datuk Dr Jerip Susil has tested negative for Covid-19 a second time after testing positive on April 2.

However, he revealed he will remain in quarantine at his village home alone until April 21 as his first negative test was on April 7.

“To all those who have been very concerned in one way or another, from far and wide, from onshore and offshore, from all faiths and creeds, friends, relatives, I would like to inform you that my infection of Covid-19 had been tested twice negative. Which means I am now clear of the infection. However, I am still under quarantine until April 21,” Dr Jerip disclosed via Facebook today.

He also advised members of the public to abide with the Movement Control Order (MCO) and practise social distancing.

“Be safe. Stay home. Keep social distancing. Keep personal hygiene,” he stressed.

The Mambong assemblyman also revealed that while under quarantine, he occupied his time with reading and touching base with his friends and family members.

“I also do a lot of reflections on many issues,” he added.

Dr Jerip also thanked the doctors and other frontliners who have treated him and other Covid-19 patients tirelessly at SGH.

According to earlier reports, Dr Jerip was infected after he came into close contact with one of his workers who tested positive after attending the Good News Fellowship Church conference in Kuching recently.

All who have been in close contact with Dr Jerip, including his wife, special administration officer, as well as his driver, were subsequently placed under home quarantine for two weeks. — DayakDaily
