“The integrated strategic intra/inter-agency operation was carried out on July 9, 2026, at about 8pm by a team of officers and personnel from WCB/PSK, JKDNKA Bukit Aman, with assistance from the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) Unit of the Miri District Police Headquarters and the Miri Division of the Sarawak Veterinary Services Department,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Yusri said the inspection uncovered various frozen food products believed to have been imported without permits.

Among the items seized were 30,000kg of frozen cooked pork large intestines, 18,000kg of pork loin, 6,048kg of frozen cooked pork large intestines, 4,200kg of frozen pork shoulder, 2,250kg of bone-in pork belly with rind, and 300kg of other frozen products.

The case is being investigated under Section 9(1) and (3) of the Veterinary Public Health Ordinance 1999 for importing products without a permit, which also resulted in a RM25,000 compound being issued.

He said the operation reflected PDRM’s ongoing efforts to strengthen enforcement against the illegal storage and distribution of frozen food products, including products with unknown halal status.

Meanwhile, enforcement efforts by WCB/PSK JKDNKA Bukit Aman between Jan 1 and July 10 this year saw 201 raids carried out nationwide, resulting in the arrest of 375 individuals linked to various offences.

The total value of seizures recorded during the period was estimated at RM264.86 million.

Mohd Yusri said PDRM will continue to intensify intelligence gathering, monitoring and integrated enforcement operations to combat smuggling activities and organised crime. — DayakDaily
