KUCHING, July 10: Sarawak Jom Heboh “Segulai Sejalai” Carnival 2026 will make its debut in Kota Samarahan from July 31 to Aug 2, bringing three days of entertainment, community activities and concerts to the grounds beside the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS).
Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah announced the event during a press conference here today, inviting Sarawakians and visitors from across Malaysia to attend the carnival.
“I am confident that Karnival Jom Heboh Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026, Kota Samarahan, from July 31 to Aug 2, 2026 at the grounds beside the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council, will once again become one of the largest community events in Sarawak this year,” he said at Baitulmakmur 2 today.
The carnival, now in its 23rd year, has been recognised by The Malaysia Book of Records as the “Longest Running Outdoor Carnival”.
Meanwhile, Media Prima OMNiA chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Efendi Omar said this year’s carnival was a special edition as it would be held outside Kuching for the first time since its Sarawak edition began.

He thanked the Sarawak government, particularly Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP), for giving Media Prima the opportunity to organise the carnival for the third consecutive year.
“What makes this year special is that we are bringing the Jom Heboh Carnival outside Kuching, to Kota Samarahan. This is the first time we are organising it outside the main city.
“More than 100 local and international brands would participate in the carnival, alongside various activities planned for visitors,” he said.
The three-day carnival will feature a variety of activities, including the Pertandingan Karaoke Drama Sangat, Buletin Challenge, meet-and-greet sessions with TV3 actors and TV9 personalities, Kids Colouring Contest, free health and dental checks, Zumba Challenge and Jom Lokal Jam.
Among the Media Prima personalities expected to appear are Shafiq Adnan, Afrina Romzi, Saree Abdullah, Fahiz Ariff, Haniff Hot FM and Kieran KoolFM.
The highlight of the carnival will be the Konsert Jom Heboh on the nights of Aug 1 and Aug 2. The first night’s concert will feature Haiza Hanafi, Mariam Saim, Aepul Roza, Fiq Halim, Aweera and Kristal X, while the second night will include Baby Shima, Wany Hasrita, K.O.I, Syamel and Marsha Milan.
The Jom Heboh Fun Run will also return for a second edition with 5KM and 8KM categories. Participants will receive an exclusive finisher medal, official jersey, tote bag, bib and other goodies. A special Family Package for the 5KM category has also been introduced for four participants in a single registration. — DayakDaily
