According to an advisory issued at 11.15am today, MetMalaysia stated that the warning is in place due to the possibility of severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms with rain intensity expected to occur for more than six hours in one area.
Additionally, the department mentioned that based on the analysis of weather models, wind concentration is expected to persist in Sarawak until March 12.
This situation may lead to increased humidity, potentially resulting in continuous rain in central and southern Sarawak.
