CMCO: Sibu worker fined for operating convenience store beyond SOP hours

SIBU, Feb 17: A 21-year old assistant of a 24-hour convenience store was fined R1,000 for breaching the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) by operating the shop beyond stipulated hours last night.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said at about 11.15pm, a police CMCO Task Force team led by ASP Kushairy Bujang went to the store which is located at Jalan Wong Nai Siong.

“They found that the shop was still opened which is a violation of the CMCO,” he said.

Under standard operating procedures during CMCO, businesses are allowed to open up til 10pm only.

The offence was committed under Regulation 15 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021. — DayakDaily
