Sarawak’s new Covid-19 cases drop to 97, Kuching tops list with 36 cases

KUCHING, April 28: New daily Covid-19 cases in Sarawak drop to 97 today with all cases in Category 1 and 2.

With no deaths and new clusters reported, this has brought the overall State Covid-19 tally to 305,180 with the death toll maintaining at 1,728.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its latest update on Covid-19 situation in the State, reported that there were 38 cases under Category 1 with no symptoms and 59 cases under Category 2 with mild symptoms.

Kuching continues to top the list with 36 cases, followed by Bintulu (15), Miri (13) and Sibu (12).

A total 12 districts registered single digit cases with Samarahan (4); Serian (3); Subis, Meradong, Kapit and Lundu (2 each); while Sarikei, Simunjan, Kanowit, Lubok Antu, Tatau and Saratok has one case each.

Meanwhile, the police had issued 14 compounds in Kuching in the past 24 hours for violations of standard operating procedures (SOP) involving the failure to check-in into premises with MySejahtera.— DayakDaily
