Burst water pipe before Stutong Baru Petronas undergoing repair, water supply interruption for nearby residents

KUCHING, March 5: Residents at Lorong 9 Jalan Stutong, One TJ shopping complex and surrounding areas will be experiencing an unscheduled water supply interruption estimated until 4pm today.

Kuching Water Board (KWB) in a statement today said the repair works are currently underway on a broken 80mm double air valve at Jalan Stutong Baru just before the Petronas petrol station.

Since 7am this morning, the main pipe at Lorong 9 Jalan Stutong had burst, unleashing a torrent of pipe water over three-metres high which also flooded the roads.

Mobilised water tankers will be dispatched to affected residential areas until the issue is resolved. — DayakDaily
