“The suspect also threatened to kill his sister, saying, ‘I’ll kill you’. The suspect then left the house before striking the windscreen of the victim’s car with his hand, causing it to crack,” he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 31), which was published by TVS.

He said the suspect subsequently left the scene, while the victim lodged a police report and sought treatment at Kabong Clinic.

“Acting on the report, a team of officers and personnel from the District Criminal Investigation Division, led by Inspector Muhammad Asraf Mad Nasir, successfully arrested the suspect in the living room of a house in Kampung Nyabor, Saratok.

“Urine screening conducted on the suspect also found him positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.

Manggie said the suspect also had three previous criminal records, including one case that resulted in a conviction.

“During questioning, the suspect admitted to punching his sister with his hand on the head and shoulder because she had scolded him. He also admitted to issuing the death threat before striking the windscreen of the victim’s car until it cracked,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 18A of the Domestic Violence Act 1994. — DayakDaily
