Body discovered floating down Rajang River

SIBU, Apr 25: The naked body of a man has been found floating near Lanang Bridge today.

At about 12 noon today, Sibu Jaya police received a call from residents of Rumah Panjang Monica Giri, Jalan Setabau-Salim, concerning a body floating in the Rajang
River.

A police team who were then conducting MCO enforcement immediately rushed to the scene. At 1.25pm after some searching, the team found the naked body
of a man floating near Lanang Bridge.

The body was later sent to the Lanang Police station for further action.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said there has been no report on any person missing thus far.

“Based on the condition of the body, we believe that it had been drowned between two to three days. The man could be around 30 years old,” he added.

There was no injury marks on the body, he said.

ACP Stanley said the case has been classified as sudden death.

He also urged the people to lodge a report at the nearest police station should they have loved one or relative reported missing.—DayakDaily
