Belaga sees four-cornered fight without PKR though the latter’s flags seen flying high in town

KUCHING, Dec 6: N65 Belaga constituents will see a four-cornered fight between incumbent Datuk Liwan Lagang from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and three other challengers.  

The three challengers are Henry Usat Bit from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), John Pampa from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and Independent candidate Siki Balarik.

Liwan in a telephone interview said he was confident to retain the seat despite seeing each of his opponents as formidable challengers and a threat.

“I respect all my opponents and I will give a good fight,” said Liwan.

Meanwhile, Liwan was quite surprised that there were no opponents from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) even though the party’s flags and banners were seen being flown throughout Belaga town.

“As there are a lot of flags and banners flying high in Belaga, I was expecting a PKR candidate, but the candidate didn’t show up,” said Liwan. — DayakDaily
