Bau now orange zone with 33 local infections, 24 districts remain as red zones

KUCHING, May 21: Bau district is no longer a red zone today, while other districts’ statuses remain unchanged.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said Bau is now classified as an orange status with only 33 local infection cases reported in the past 14-days.

“This leaves only 24 districts with the red zone status, and two district are orange zones,” it said.

The statement added tgat currently, only 10 districts remain as yellow zones, while four other districts are still green zones.

As of today, the districts that are classified as red zones are namely Bukit Mabong, Tebedu, betong, Pusa, Belaga, Sri Aman, Sebauh, Pakan, Song, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan< Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu. The two districts that are orange zones are Bau and Tatau, while Simunjan, Lundu, Julau, Matu, Tanjung Manis, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Limbang, and Lawas are yellow zones, and four other districts namely Marudi, Asajaya, Telang Usan, and Kabong are green zones. — DayakDaily
