KUCHING, Jan 12: Batik Air is offering Kuala Lumpur-Sibu flight tickets starting today at RM399 for the Chinese New Year celebration.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook, when delivering his 2024 New Year mandate to the ministry’s staff in Putrajaya today, said this is due to high demand for the route during the festive period.
He also said the extra flights were added after economy tickets from other airlines from Kuala Lumpur to Sibu were sold out.
On the same note, Loke said that the additional flights being arranged will bring the regular flight to Sibu and Tawau in Sabah, which was planned to start on Feb 8.
According to him, ceiling prices for flights to Sabah and Sarawak during the festival period have also been fixed, and airlines can sell these tickets at a price lower than RM599. — DayakDaily
