KOTA SAMARAHAN, June 17: An army personnel was charged at the Kota Samarahan Sessions Court with two counts of incest involving his younger biological sister, allegedly committed in October and November 2025.
According to a statement from the Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department, the accused pleaded not guilty to both charges, which were read before Sessions Court judge Shafiza Datu Abdul Razak Tready on Tuesday (June 16).
The charges were framed under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory imprisonment term of not less than 10 years and up to 30 years upon conviction, and is also punishable with whipping.
Based on the facts of the case, the accused is alleged to have committed the first offence along the roadside leading to a house in Kampung Empila Hulu, Kota Samarahan, while the second offence reportedly took place at a family residence in the same village shared by the accused and the victim.
The court did not offer bail, and the accused was ordered to be remanded at Puncak Borneo Prison.
The case has been fixed for mention and pre-trial case management on July 17, 2026. — DayakDaily
