KUCHING, March 29: Six people ranging in age from 19 to 25 were arrested for engaging in illegal online gaming activities at City Square Kuching last night.

“Despite dealing with the health threat, gamblers should know that police do not let our guard down when it comes to crime,” State Criminal Investigation Department Chief, Denis Leong emphasised in a statement.

“For the Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism Unit, the show must go on, with or without Ops Covid-19.”

According to Leong, the police will continue to ‘double-barrel’ against Covid-19 and illegal gaming activities.

Meanwhile, the arrested suspects comprised four males and two females.

The suspects were detained under the Common Gambling Houses Act and the Prevention And Control Of Infectious Diseases Regulations. — DayakDaily
