SARIKEI, June 23: All development projects under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (Radda) are expected to be completed before 2029, based on the implementation schedule that has been drawn up.
According to Radda chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh, the projects are currently at various stages, including design, tender documentation preparation, and site assessment works.
He said five projects are currently in the tender process, while another 41 projects remain at the design and site study stage to ensure their smooth implementation according to plan.
“Accordingly, the 41 projects are expected to be tendered in the third quarter of this year, with a total estimated value exceeding RM685 million, making them one of the largest components of Radda’s development agenda.
“In addition, another 23 projects, with a combined value of about RM339 million, are scheduled to enter the tender process in the fourth quarter of this year,” he told reporters after attending a meeting on Radda projects at the Sarawak Government Administrative Centre here today, as reported by TVS.
Len Talif, who is also the Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment, said another five projects worth approximately RM100 million are expected to be tendered in the second quarter of next year, completing the overall development package identified by the agency.
According to Len Talif, the progress demonstrates that Radda now has a clear implementation schedule to realise the 90 development projects approved by the Radda Steering Committee.
He also expressed appreciation to all elected representatives and implementing agencies for their strong commitment to ensuring that every project is carried out according to schedule.
“Although there are several challenges, including the workload of implementing agencies handling multiple projects simultaneously, shortages of construction materials such as stone and cement, and unpredictable weather conditions, I am satisfied with the progress achieved so far and am confident that the majority of projects can be completed ahead of schedule,” he said. — DayakDaily
