Adverse weather conditions expected in Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu until 6pm (March 12)

KUCHING, March 12: Five districts are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds until 6pm today.

In a notice issued at 3pm today, Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) said the affected areas are Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, and Sibu (Kanowit).

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue,” said the department. — DayakDaily
