Abdullah Saidol: Ukas to ensure Sarawakians understand benefits of S’wak govt policies announced by Premier

KUCHING, Dec 9: Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) is gearing up to ensure Sarawakians understand the benefits of Sarawak government policies announced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs and UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol said Ukas is now improving their information delivery method, especially on the ground for the first four months of 2024.

“After various incentives and policies was announced during the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting recently, the Premier wants Sarawakians to understand what can benefit them, especially the upgrading of Kenyalang Gold Card services, student incentives, as well as the new laws and policies,” he told reporters when met after attending to Ukas Appreciation and Award Ceremony held at Riverside Majestic Hotel, yesterday.


Asked about Ukas’ plans for the coming Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024 which will be held in Sarawak, Abdullah Saidol said they were making the necessary preparations.

He added that the preparation is not only for Sukma, but also for various other big events that will be held in Sarawak next year.

Ukas uses Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram, Youtube and WhatsApp channels and other physical platforms to keep the rakyat up to date on the Sarawak government development plans, programmes, initiatives, policies and activities.

On a daily basis, Ukas’ news are broadcast five times a day in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Iban. They also recently started Chinese News Edition. — DayakDaily
