KUCHING, Dec 16: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg hopes to see the N26 Gedong seat become the coalition’s first win come polling day this Dec 18.

The Gedong candidate said as chief minister, he would be able to accelerate the constituency’s development provided he has the backing of Gedong incumbent Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and the constituents.

“Therefore, come Dec 18, let us come out (and vote) in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and present a victory for Gedong.

“With this victory in Gedong and other State seats, we will be able to continue to bring in development in Gedong,” he said during a ‘leader-with-the-people’ event at Kampung Semalatong B, Simunjan today.

Abang Johari added that some people may think that the declaration of Gedong as a full district and development plans in the pipeline might be a little too fast, but he clarified that it is possible because of the construction of the coastal road.

“Therefore, let us make sure that we secure the victory in the State polls.

“After that, we will form the government where my fellow colleagues have entrusted me to become the chief minister again, but this time, a chief minister from Gedong,” he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Abang Johari also visited several other places in Gedong today including Kampung Gayau Padok and Kampung Kepayang. — DayakDaily
