KUCHING, April 12: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from SME Corporation Malaysia today at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia.
According to the Sarawak Information Department, the delegation led by SME Corporation Malaysia Sarawak branch director Faiz R Sutarji updated Abang Johari on the agencies’ performance under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives with regards to the various assistance channelled.
Modern agriculture was also discussed, and it was agreed that many opportunities and benefits could be generated through modern farming methods. In addition, issues on food safety were also discussed.
“What we have learned from this visit will be discussed at the ministry level to identify areas for improvement.
“We will also see what we as a federal agency can do in supporting and assisting the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sarawak,” said Faiz when met by the media after the courtesy call. — DayakDaily
