KUCHING, May 17: A team that is working well must be maintained, and a leader who has shown commitment, delivered results and built strong working relationships, such leadership should be strengthened, not disrupted.
In a Facebook post, Kapit MP Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi noted that a visit to Rumah Sebelie Ngilai, Nanga Dap, in Batang Rajang, Kapit, with Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang, has reaffirmed the clear and visible progress taking place in the latter’s constituency.
Nanta, who is also the Works Minister, said that since Nyabong was elected as the representative for Pelagus, development in this area has moved forward with clear direction.
He elaborated that many initiatives have been planned and implemented to improve basic infrastructure, connectivity, public facilities, and the overall well-being of the people, especially those in rural and longhouse communities.
“This progress is not accidental. It is the result of committed leadership, strong teamwork and close cooperation between leaders at both federal and State levels.
“YB Wilson and I have been working closely to ensure that every available opportunity, whether through federal or State resources, is fully utilised for the benefit of the people of Pelagus,” he said.
He went on to say that Pelagus is a vast and challenging constituency, and it requires leaders who know the ground, understand the needs of the people, and are able to deliver.
“Leadership in an area like Pelagus cannot be based on experiment, emotion or personal interest. It must be based on proven performance, trust, and the ability to bring real development.
“Therefore, I wish to make it very clear that a team that is working well must be maintained. When a leader has shown commitment, delivered results and built strong working relationships, such leadership should be strengthened, not disrupted.
“The people of Pelagus need continuity, stability, and effective representation. Any disruption to a team that is already delivering will only slow down the development momentum that has been built over the years,” he said.
Nanta added that Nyabong has proven his commitment to the people of Pelagus and that progress in the constituency is visible.
“The momentum is already strong. What is important now is to protect this momentum, maintain unity and ensure that Pelagus continues to move forward for the benefit of the longhouses, rural communities and the younger generation,” he said. — DayakDaily
