KUCHING, Dec 12: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in eight districts in Sarawak until 6pm today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) in an advisory notice issued at 2.30pm today, the districts are:
- Kuching (Bau and Kuching)
- Serian
- Samarahan
- Sibu (Kanowit)
- Kapit (Song)
- Bintulu (Tatau)
- Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi)
- Limbang
The department said that a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
