66 Sarawakians offered permanent MO posts in Sarawak

KUCHING, Oct 5: Sixty-six Sarawakians or 44 per cent out of a total of 150 officers have been offered permanent posts for UD41 grade medical officers (MOs) in Sarawak.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba in a press statement today revealed that the remaining 84 officers or 56 per cent were from Peninsular Malaysia.


“With the offer of these appointments, all Sarawak-born Grade UD41 (contract) MOs within the 2017 cohort appointment who have fulfilled the criteria of permanent appointment have already been offered permanent appointment.

“The date to report for duty in the Sarawak Health Department is on October 12,” he disclosed.

Dr Adham also revealed the 150 medical officers of UD41 grade who were on contract and have completed their housemanship have been offered permanent positions in health offices and facilities in Sarawak.

He explained that the offer is a continuation for the medical officers who were on contract basis among the second 2017 cohort of those appointed.

The permanent post appointments have been agreed to by the Public Services Commission of Malaysia and will be backdated starting from May 15, 2017 which is the same date the medical officers reported for duty as officers appointed on contract.

Dr Adham added the placement of those officers will only be at health offices and health facilities in Sarawak, taking into consideration the factors such as job vacancies. — DayakDaily
