SERIAN, May 26: A total of 556 residents of Kampung Tebakang Melayu here have been screened for Covid-19 during an active case detection (ACD) operation held at the multipurpose hall.

Those who have been swabbed are required to observe home quarantine for 14 days from May 24 to June 6.

The ACD operations are divided into two zones, namely Hulu Tengah Selatan Zone and Riih Zone.

When contacted by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus reminded villagers to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene as well as to comply with all standard operating procedures (SOP) be it at home or outside.

Apart from that, he also expressed satisfactions with how the Serian Division Health Office has handled and managed the Covid-19 cases in Kampung Tebakang Melayu.

He added that the Serian Division Welfare Department has also opened up counters to distribute dry rations to those affected by the two-week-long quarantine order following their screening.

The counters are set up at the screening location including nearby clinics in Tebakang, Tarat, Tebedu, Balai Ringin and Siburan.

Villagers under quarantine order will be given coupons to collect their rations from the counters. — DayakDaily
