KUCHING, Sept 13: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has decided that the Covid-19 swab test results of Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Antigen) are no longer required for inter-district movement except for Bintulu division.

SDMC in a statement today said the decision is effective tomorrow (Sept 14).

However, the committee said police permit is still required for inter-district travelling.

On the other hand, SDMC said the whole genomic sequencing for Covid-19 positive samples derived from screenings in 12 divisions in Sarawak by Institute of Health and Community Medicine (IHCM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) has confirmed that 100 per cent samples taken were of the Delta variant.

Hence, the committee said the Delta variant of Covid-19 has spread to the whole of Sarawak.
