KUCHING, April 15: Needy families at Kampung Sungai Periok have received 50 food parcels today in conjunction with Good Friday.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng handed over the parcels to the recipients at SRB St Andrew, on behalf of the sponsors.
The charity programme was held by the Saberkas Pending branch in collaboration with Aspire Group (AG).
Each food parcel consists of a bag of rice, eggs, whole chicken, canned foods, and other essential items.
AG senior agency manager Anna Ganai, in a statement today, said at least 20 members participated in the programme to deliver the food aid to the families’ representatives.
“Aspire Group aims to help more bumiputera to join our group in career development. We hope that more insurepreneurs will join in to help and reach out (to the community) in the future,” she said. — DayakDaily
