KUCHING, Dec 15: Yayasan Petronas, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department (JKM), have identified 400 underprivileged families in Sarawak to receive Christmas gifts this year.
Yayasan Petronas chief executive officer Shariah Nelly Francis said the recipients are among 2,350 families identified for the aid nationwide.
“I am happy to share that this completes the total of 11,850 families that we celebrate this year through the ‘Uplifting Lives Festive (ULF)’ for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Gawai Dayak, Kaamatan, Deepavali and now Christmas celebrations,” she said when speaking at Yayasan Petronas’ aid presentation held at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) today.
During the event, Malaysian Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri presented 200 food baskets to 130 SGH patients, while the remaining 70 were given to JKM aid recipients. — DayakDaily
