38yo lorry driver dies of suspected heart attack before crashing into 4WD in Sibu

SIBU, Feb 13: A lorry driver tragically lost his life, believed to have suffered a heart attack while driving, causing his vehicle to crash into a four-wheel drive at a traffic light intersection on Jalan Tun Zaidi Adruce yesterday (Feb 12).

In a TVS news report, Sibu District Police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the accident occurred at 11.36am when a 49-year-old local man driving the four-wheel drive had stopped at the intersection for a red light.

“While stationary, his vehicle was rear-ended by a lorry driven by a 38-year-old local man, who is suspected to have suffered a heart attack,” he said in a statement.

As a result, the lorry driver was found unresponsive inside his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Sibu Hospital. — DayakDaily
