“The people’s aspirations always serve as our guiding principle, their needs form the foundation of our administration, and their hopes drive our progress.

“We will continue to improve this mechanism, ensuring that our administration is not only well-intentioned but also well-implemented, for the well-being and progress of the community,” he said, according to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

He said this when speaking at a recent Chinese New Year Dinner organised by Bawang Assan Assemblyman who is also the senior vice president of Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.

“As a responsible government, we must ensure that the people’s voices are heard, and action is taken based on the feedback given.

“Only by listening and acting based on the people’s wishes, can we develop a more harmonious and prosperous community,” Tiong added.

The Dudong Assemblyman also highlighted the importance of open communication between the government and the people in streamlining the administrative system and bridging any gaps between the two.

For Sibu in particular, he said close collaboration between members of the Sibu Municipal Council (MPS), Sibu Rural District Council (MDLBS), government officials, government agencies and community leaders is important in creating more inclusive policies that can meet the aspirations of the people more accurately.

He also expressed appreciation for the support of individuals and agencies that assisted in the development of Sibu, especially in the aspects of public facilities, education, and social needs, ensuring prosperous development for all levels of society. – DayakDaily
