KUCHING, April 7: A 37-year-old man succumbed to injuries after he was shot while scavenging for scrap metals in Jalan Siew, Sungai Bakong, Meradong, yesterday (April 6).
In a statement, Meradong district police chief DSP Sekam Anoi said that the incident was reported to have happened at around 6am yesterday, and the victim was confirmed dead while receiving treatment at Sarikei Hospital.
“Two other friends of the victim who were also reported to have been shot were treated at the same hospital,” he said.
He said that two suspects, a father and son aged 65 and 38, were also arrested for further investigation.
Police also seized a shotgun and several rounds of cartridges of ammo.
The case is being investigated Section 302 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
