KUCHING, Dec 5: A 37-year-old woman from Mukah who was brought-in-dead (BID) was among three new Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today.
According to a Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) report, the woman who had diabetes succumbed to Covid-19 on Dec 2.
A 64-year-old woman from Kuching who was also a BID and had hypertension and a 69-year-old man from Betong who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, heart disease and obesity were the other two fatalities.
The committee said the woman from Kuching passed away on Dec 1 while the man from Betong passed away on Dec 4.
The death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak currently stands at 1,594.
As for new cases, SDMC said there were 71 cases registered throughout the State bringing the cumulative total of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 251,213.
Only one of out 71 cases was categorised as critical — a patient with pneumonia in Category 3.
There were no patients in Categories 5 and 4.
There were 45 patients with mild symptoms in Category 2 and 25 asymptomatic patients in Category 1.
By district, Kuching ranked the highest with 25 new cases followed by Miri with 10 cases.
Districts which registered between one and 10 cases were Bintulu (9), Kabong (7), Sibu (6), Limbang (4), Samarahan (3), Lawas (1), Simunjan (1), Mukah (1), Kapit (1), Kanowit (1), Sri Aman (1), and Subis (1).
Districts with zero new cases were Serian, Sarikei, Betong, Pusa, Tanjung Manis, Asajaya, Matu, Lundu, Daro, Dalat, Julau, Bau, Belaga, Telang Usan, Selangau, Marudi, Saratok, Song, Tebedu, Bukit Mabong, Sebauh, Tatau, Beluru, Pakan, Meradong and Lubok Antu. — DayakDaily
