SIBU, Feb 17: A man with 18 prior drug charges could face the gallows as he has been arrested for possession of drugs yet again.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the anti-narcotics unit had detained the 32-year old suspect during a raid on a house in Jalan Ek Dee at 7.10pm yesterday.

“The team found seven transparent plastic packets containing drugs believed to be methamphetamine in the house,” he said.


The drugs weighed 129.59g and are estimated to have a street value of RM12,959.

“A urine test conducted on the suspect came back positive with methamphetamine and amphetamine,” said Zulkipli.

The suspect is being remanded for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

The section carries a death sentence by hanging upon conviction. — DayakDaily
