3 Covid-19 clusters end, Bungey 2 and Long Urun super spreader clusters continue to wreak havoc

KUCHING, Sept 16: Three Covid-19 clusters were declared to have ended today while super spreader clusters Bungey 2 and Long Urun continue to yield 24 and 16 new cases respectively.

In the State Disaster Management Committee’s daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak today, the three clusters that came to an end were the Bunga Rampai Cluster of Bau, Jambatan Lemua Cluster of Beluru and Senibong Cluster of Lundu.

These clusters were considered a thing of the past after no new cases were detected within the last 28 days.


There are currently still 138 active clusters of the existing 263 clusters, where 125 of them are under control with no new Covid-19 cases reported today.

Meanwhile, apart from the Bungey 2 and Long Urun Clusters, other clusters recording new cases are the Kampung Sikog Cluster which registered nine new cases, while the Mundai Cluster recorded an additional seven cases.

The Industri Jalan Semeba Cluster showed an increase of five cases, whereas the Sebobok Cluster saw four cases and the Pinang Jawa Cluster had three cases.

The Opar Cluster registered two new cases while the KM20 Jalan Betong Cluster, Sibuluh-Nowang Cluster, Anna Rais Cluster, Andi Liam Cluster and Segedup Cluster all logged one new case, respectively. — DayakDaily
