Sarawak’s Covid-19 daily caseload slides to 189

KUCHING, April 15: The number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak has improved, with the number of cases decreasing to 189 today.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said only four cases were placed in the serious categories.


Breaking down the clinical categories, there were 46 Category 1’s, 139 Category 2’s, one Category 3, and three Category 5’s.

In terms of districts, Kuching remained the biggest contributor with 61 cases while Sibu, Miri and Bintulu recorded 26, 23 and 19 cases, respectively.

Other districts with new infections were Serian (6), Kabong, Tebedu (5 each), Samarahan, Bau (4 each), Dalat, Sarikei, Kapit, Beluru (3 each), Lubok Antu, Betong, Asajaya, Mukah, Simunjan, Lawas, Pusa, Daro, Sri Aman (2 each), Julau, Marudi, Lundu, Tatau, Kanowit, and Subis (1 each).

With that, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak was pushed to 303,650.

Meanwhile, Miri reported one new Covid-19 death today, involving a 77-year-old female who had hypertension and diabetes.

With the Jalan Taiton Cluster in Bau announced expired today, Sarawak only has three active clusters to date. — DayakDaily
