KUCHING, Oct 15: A total of 23 longhouses in Marudi constituency has benefited from the Sarawak Government Longhouse Loan Scheme (PPRP) under the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), said Assistant Minister for Local Government and Housing and Marudi assemblyman Datu Dr Pengguang Manggil.

“Since I was elected as the representative, 23 longhouses involving 485 families have received the assistance worth a total of RM14.55 million,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Pengguang, who is also Marudi assemblyman, noted the amount of assistance does not include the two longhouses (Rh Langat anak Anthony Collins and Rh Jeff Anchum) that have received RM70,000 for each door to rebuild their longhouses which were destroyed in a fire.

“Congratulation to all those who have been selected (for the assistance). I pray that this will help with the construction of their respective longhouses,” he added. — DayakDaily
