International travellers not allowed to transit within Sarawak

Transit rules for international and domestic travellers

KUCHING, Oct 15:  Transit within Sarawak is not allowed for all international travellers, while all travellers into Sarawak will be quarantined at first point of entry in Sarawak.

This is according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) released by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Oct 5, 2021.

Meanwhile, for domestic travellers, those who are fully vaccinated may transit within Sarawak.  For those who are not completely vaccinated, transit within Sarawak is not allowed unless the individuals do not exit the airport terminal building.

“Travellers (with incomplete vaccination) will be given quarantine order for 10 days, and Covid-19 swab will be taken on the 7th day,” it said.

The committee said MySejahtera digital vaccination certificate is required for travellers who want to enter the State.

It said travellers must attach their entry application with the MySejahtera digital vaccination certificate as proof of completing two doses of vaccination (Pfizer/Sinovac/AstraZeneca) and having passed 14-days from the date of the second vaccination.

“For those with single dose of vaccine (Cansino/Jansen), they are required to attach their MySejahtera digital vaccination certificate, 28-days after the vaccination date.

“For any other types of vaccine, please refer to World Health Organisation (WHO) whether the vaccine is recognised, and approval will be on case by case basis,” it said

SDMC also pointed out that all travellers must have their RT-PCR or RTK Antigen test (swab) within three days validity prior to their entry into the state, and that the Covid-19 RTK Antigen self test kit (saliva) result is not accepted,

“A mandatory 10-days quarantine will be given for travellers who wish to enter Sarawak with incomplete vaccination and those unvaccinated due to medical reason,” it added. — DayakDaily.
