The 103-door Kampung Long Bemang is the longest longhouse in the northern region and comprises four blocks namely Haleluyah, Hosana, Maranata, and Calvary, housing a total of 558 villagers.

The Long Bemang Volunteer Fire Brigade has conducted patrols to monitor the flood situation, which began last Monday (May 27) due to the overflowing of the Baram River.

Despite the rising water levels, no evacuations have been carried out so far, as residents are accommodated on the second floor of their homes.

Villagers have been advised to stay alert and prepared for potential evacuations if the situation worsens. — DayakDaily
