BINTULU, July 29: The issue involving 22 tenants at Bandaria Park People’s Housing Programme (PPR) will be assessed on a case-by-case basis before any decisions are made.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said the cases involved different circumstances, including third-party tenancy arrangements, family separations and the loss of spouses.
“Each case has its own background and conditions, and it needs to be investigated fairly before any decision is made,” he said during a briefing session with Bandaria Park PPR representatives at NU Bintulu Hotel yesterday (July 28).
Asfia said the issue was not straightforward, as each tenant’s situation required individual consideration rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
He added that the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) was committed to improving the management of Bandaria Park PPR by reviewing complaints and feedback from residents.
He said maintenance works would also be carried out in phases based on priority to improve the living environment at the housing area.
“The success of this effort requires cooperation from all parties to ensure Bandaria Park remains a comfortable, safe and harmonious residential area,” he said.
Also present were Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee, Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, and representatives from Bandaria Park PPR residents. — DayakDaily
