KUCHING, April 7: A 21-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident at Kilometer 8 Jalan Kota Samarahan-Asajaya on April 6.
According to TVS, Kota Samarahan district police chief, Supt Damataries Lautin, said the victim, identified as Mohammad Yusri Jumadi, who was from Kampung Bari in Kota Samarahan and worked as a labourer, was riding his motorcycle when the accident occurred at 11.08pm.
“The victim was riding from Asajaya to Kampung Baru on a straight road when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and skidded.
“He fell into the opposite lane and was hit by the car that was driving straight from the opposite direction,” he said.
He said the victim died at 12.25am while receiving treatment at the Sarawak Heart Centre at Kota Samarahan.
“The remains have been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) forensic unit. The 20-year-old driver of the car was not injured in the accident.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said. — DayakDaily
