KUCHING, April 3: Make sure to mark your calendars because the 2024 Kuching Festival Food Fair is returning, running from July 26 to Aug 18 at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) grounds, open daily from 5pm to 11pm.
According to MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, 330 stalls have been allocated this year, and stall vacancies will be open for application beginning Thursday, April 4 at 8am and closing on Friday, April 19 at 4pm.
“Application forms for half, single, and premium stalls are available on the MBKS website and at the One Stop Service Counter, Counters 8 and 9, located in the MBKS lobby. The One Stop Service Counter is open from 8am to 4pm daily.
“All completed forms must be submitted to the One Stop Service Counter on or before Friday, April 19 at 4pm, along with all required documents and fees. Late applications will not be accepted,” Wee said during a press conference held today at the MBKS building here.
He went on to say that the selection criteria is primarily based on the creativity and how innovative the proposed food items are, subject to the stall’s availability in the category applied.
The mayor also stated that the 2023 winners and top donors are given priority in selecting their stall location by category.
This year’s 330 stalls include 91 premium stalls, 53 single stalls, 156 half stalls, a Chinese home cook delicacy corner, 25 double stalls, one drinks stall and three beer stalls. — DayakDaily
