KUCHING, March 17: Police are on the hunt for two male detainees who escaped from lawful custody at the Kuching Court on March 7 at around 11.30am.
According to a statement, Kuching district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said that the case is being investigated under Section 223/224 of the Penal Code, which provides for a punishment of imprisonment for up to two years, a fine or both.
The two detainees are Mohd Hissyalezwan Abd Zamri, 27, and Muhammad Nasrie Razali, 25.
They are still on trial for a case under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.
Anyone who aids the two suspects may be charged under Section 225(b) of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment for up to three years and may also be subject to a fine.
