17 more locations placed under EMCO

KUCHING, Aug 12: A total of 17 localities in Tatau, Bintulu, Meradong, Betong, Kuching, Bau, Simunjan, Samarahan and Mukah have been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

According to the State Disaster Management Committee in a statement today, four localities started EMCO yesterday (Aug 11) which is scheduled to end on Aug 24.

These localities are Rh Degum Anak Usit in Nanga Puti Kakus of Tatau, Rh Kepalin Anak Omar at KM58 along Bintulu-Miri road of Bintulu (Bakun junction), the Wahon Glass and Aluminium Sdn Bhd workers’ quarter in Bintulu, and Kemena Industrial Estate in Bintulu.

In Meradong, Rh Juan in Skim B of Bintangor will be under a two-week EMCO starting today until Aug 24.

For six localities in Betong, Kuching, Bau, Simunjan and Samarahan, namely Kampung Bungey in Debak of Betong, Kampung Braang Payang in Kuching, Kampung Samariang Batu in Kuching, Kampung Pulo Hilir and Kampung Pulo Ulu in Kuching, Kampung Sega in Bau, and Kampung Baru in Kota Samarahan, the EMCO implementation will start tomorrow (Aug 13) and end on Aug 26.

Other locations under lockdown include four in Simunjan, namely Kampung Sg Pinang Baru, Kampung Sg Pinang Sega, Kampung Sg Pinang Lama and Kampung Sg Pinang (Aug 13-Aug 26), while in Mukah, the Sri Datai Mining Sdn Bhd workers’ quarters will be under EMCO from Saturday (Aug 14) until Aug 27.

On the same note, the committee also announced the end of EMCO in nine localities in Sarikei, Kabong, Kuching, Sri Aman, Tatau, Beluru and Samarahan, today (Aug 12, 2021).

The affected localities are Rh Regina in Sg Selidap in Sarikei, Rh Chuat Empayang in Kabong, Kampung Senari in Kuching, Rh Gilbert Melina in Kampung Rawan Ili Tanjung Bijat of Sri Aman, Rh Belong Anak Entalang in Nanga Serenggas Ulu Anap of Tatau, Rh Labo Anak Abit in Jambatan Lemua Bakong of Beluru, Rh Seman Anak Riggie in Sg Nat Jalan Semilang Tinjar of Beluru, Rh Ambon Anak Menggat in Jambatan Lemua Bakong of Beluru, and Kampung Empila in Kota Samarahan. — DayakDaily
