KUCHING, Feb 10: Minister for Food Industries, Commodities and Regional Development, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom is of the view that the newly launched 1602 Craft Beer of Sarawak could be a pillar of revenue for the region.

He shared that renowned beverages such as Guinness stout beer from Ireland and Heineken lager beer from Holland have been contributing revenue for their respective countries.

“I hoped like Guinness and Heineken, our very own 1602 Craft Beer can be a pillar of revenue for Sarawak too,” he said.

“We congratulate you for your effort in venturing into the first craft beer in Sarawak,” he added.

Dr Rundi made these remarks in his speech before launching the craft beer brand at a leading hotel yesterday night.

He was of the opinion that beer is a healthy beverage, but not when one overindulges.

“Just like many things, drink in moderation, because overdoing it can lead to problems,” he advised. — DayakDaily
