MUKAH, Aug 8: A 15-year old boy was among three persons arrested in two separate cases of allegedly having in their possession dangerous drugs.
Mukah district police chief, DSP Jimmy Panyau said in the first case, the police anti-narcotic team had on Thursday (aug 6) at about 6.20pm stopped a Perodua Myvi car at Jalan Pasar Baru here for acting suspiciously.
“Following an investigation, two men were arrested. The team had also seized a cigarette pack which contained 1.76 gm of drug believed to be syabu. The drug was placed in a transparent plastic packet and a small transparent straw,” he added.
Upon further investigation on the car, the police team found another small transparent straw with 0.26gm of syabu inside it.
Jimmy said the two suspects, aged 15 and 25, were local with the latter working in an oil palm estate while the teenager was not working.
Both were found positive for drugs following a urine test. They had been remanded for four days for investigation under Section 12(2) and 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
In another case, the team nabbed a 28-year old lorry driver for possessing 0.19gm of syabu which was also placed in a transparent straw in a cigarette box.
The arrest was made at 12.20pm on the same day at a bistro in the same area.
“He is also tested positive for drug after a urine test,” Jimmy revealed.
The suspect is remanded for four days until Aug 11 for further investigation under the same Act.—DayakDaily
