SIBU, June 16: Five women were among 15 arrested for violating the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) by clubbing in a pub at Jalan Pahlawan on Monday (June 15).
Sibu deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat, said those arrested were aged between 15 to 40.
The 15-year-old girl is a Form Three student.
He said during a raid on the pub at 6.53pm, the suspects were heavily engrossed in a drinking session.
“Urine tests on the suspects showed that 13 of them were positive for drugs,” he added.
Collins said they were arrested for violating Section 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (PPPPB) (No.7) 2020 for assembling at an entertainment centre.
Collins said all the suspects were required to settle the compound at Sibu PKD within 14 days.
“An investigation paper has also been opened on the 13 suspects who were found to be drug-related under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, ” he revealed.
He added that all of them were later released on police bail after their statements were taken.—DayakDaily
