SIBU, Feb 8: Fourteen people in Sibu Jaya today were compounded a total of RM14,000 for violating Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan.

They were caught by an integrated standard operating procedure (SOP) team led by Sibu Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division chief, DSP Ariffin Bahar which went round the commercial centre.

“We have issued compounds of RM1,000 each to 14 people which include traders and customers,”he said.

According to Ariffin, members of the public had become complacent and had taken things easy now following the drop in Covid-19 cases recently.

“We compounded a trader for not having two separate lanes of entry and exit for his premises. As for the 13 customers, they were found not wearing face masks and also did not scan into MySejahtera when entering the premises,” he said.

Ariffin advised the public to always follow the SOP set by the State Disaster Management Committee. — DayakDaily
