KUCHING, March 26: A 12-year-old girl from Miri was among the four Covid-19 deaths reported today.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) categorised her as a brought-in-dead (BID) case as her body was admitted to Miri Hospital.
According to her medical history, she had no known illnesses.
The other three deaths were from Sri Aman, Kuching, and Limbang, involving three males aged 67 to 82.
All three of them had comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and dyslipidemia.
That brings the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak to 1,677 as of this day.
Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded 960 new Covid-19 cases today, 20 cases less than yesterday.
In terms of clinical categories, there were 232 in Category 1, 719 in Category 2, three in Category 3, two in Category 4, and four in Category 5.
District-wise, Kuching remained the biggest contributor with 325 cases while Bintulu and Miri accounted for 104 and 102 cases, respectively.
Those with double-digit case numbers were Sibu (84), Samarahan (61), Serian (46), Bau (31), Sri Aman (24), Sarikei (17), Mukah (17), Betong (15), Pusa (12), Subis (12), and Lundu (11).
Other districts with new infections were Marudi, Tebedu (9 each), Simunjan, Daro (8 each), Matu (7), Limbang, Lubok Antu, Pakan (6 each), Dalat, Asajaya, Tatau (5 each), Lawas, Kanowit, Telang Usan (4 each), Meradong (3), Saratok, Beluru, Kabong (2 each), Tanjung Manis, Kapit, Belaga, and Sebauh (1 each).
Only four districts, namely Selangau, Julau, Song, and Bukit Mabong, were without any new Covid-19 cases for the day.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak has been pushed to 294,799.
Meanwhile, no new clusters were reported, while eight remain active in the State. — DayakDaily
