KUCHING, July 5: Eleven-year-old Sarawakian vocal prodigy Taylor Louise is set to make her musical theatre debut on two major stages this August—first in London, followed by Kuala Lumpur.
Taylor will perform at the prestigious Britten Theatre, Royal College of Music in London, representing Malaysia on the international stage on August 1.
The performance marks a significant milestone in her young career as she continues to shine globally through her remarkable voice and stage presence.
Immediately after her London appearance, Taylor will return home to star in Dreamweaver The Musical, making her national musical theatre debut as the youngest cast member.
The production, created by Tanoti and Balkon Media, will premiere at the Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC) on August 29 and 30, and is celebrated as Sarawak’s first original English-language musical theatre production.
“Joining Dreamweaver has been so much fun! I laughed so much I had no energy left. I already love my Dreamweaver fam,” Taylor shared after her first few rehearsals.

The musical brings together a diverse cast to celebrate Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and storytelling traditions, with Taylor taking on a major role despite her young age.
Her rise to the spotlight comes after an impressive run of international achievements.
In 2024, she was crowned Division Champion and won the Gold First Award at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Los Angeles. She later clinched top honours at the Asia Students Arts Festival in Singapore and the International Finals in Hong Kong.
Earlier this year, Taylor represented Malaysia at the Sanremo Junior World Finals in Italy, where she received a Special Mention and placed among the Top 5 globally in her age category.
She also swept First Prizes in Musical Theatre and Pop Song at the Song International Singing Competition United Kingdom, and earned major accolades from Golden Prestige International, GYMC, GASCA International, and the North American Virtuoso International (NAVI) Music Competition.
Her outstanding performance at the Saint-Saëns International Music Competition earned her Platinum and Gold Awards, along with the Saint-Saëns Special Award for Superior Interpretation.

Despite her global success, Taylor remains humble and credits her vocal coach, Sabrina Tnay, for nurturing her talent.
“Coach Sabrina has been an important part of my growth. I’m so thankful for her support,” she said. — DayakDaily
